Sven Carter and The Trash mouth Effect

I want to start by saying if you are looking for a read-aloud for a crowd of 12 and up kids, this is for you. Every chapter ends with a cliffhanger making it a snap to keep the kids interested. It would make an excellent Disney channel movie (if they made sci-fi movies that is) It is a kid book for kid readers. Some of the plot devices are of a universal sort, but the target reading audience doesn't know that, and it's such fun- funny book that I could put that aside.

Sven is part human and part robot. He realizes that he may be on Earth to wipe out humanity, and so Sven has to figure out exactly what he is, where he came from, what he's programmed to do, and how to stop himself. His friends Will, and Alicia( who may assassinate him) are helping him to figure it out. There is plenty of 12yo gross humor mixed with a Terminator-style plot. It is so unusual and amusing that I give it an extra star just for the premise.

Please note that I borrowed this book from my library without a review requirement or any influence regarding review content should I choose to post a review. Apart from that, I have no connection at all to either the author or the publisher of this book.

I'm a lifelong bibliophile who happens to love children's books and who should have become a librarian. Instead I horde books in case of apocalypse or the enactment of a Fahrenheit 451 type law. My five kids accept my addiction and have learned to accept books in odd places.
