101 Video Games to Play Before You Grow Up

I'm so tempted to make this another elective this school year. Could this be a spine for the history of video games? I'm playing with the idea anyway. We are a video game family, my husband has been programming since his Commodore 64 games, and we own nearly every console in existence. Now, even if you don't have that kind of crazy obsession collection, you can utilize this book.

This book opens with a comprehensive table of contents for quick and easy reference. There are fill in boxes to note if you played it, "my rating," "My favorite moment" and "Notes. For each game, Ben lists the system specs, platforms, rating, the year it came out. He tells which company made the game, along with pertinent details about each game, and a "Did you know?" fact, suggestions as to what to play next, and "You'll like these games if...". The Table of Contents lists Platformer Games, Action & Adventure, Sports & Fighting, Role Playing & Strategy, Puzzle & Arcade, and Party & Rhythm.

If you are thinking about using this with your kids, I'd love to touch base with you as the school year goes on. I believe that we're going to try and get to one game a week as time permits.

I'm a lifelong bibliophile who happens to love children's books and who should have become a librarian. Instead I horde books in case of apocalypse or the enactment of a Fahrenheit 451 type law. My five kids accept my addiction and have learned to accept books in odd places.
