Doodle Adventures 1 and 2
Elementary and Middle-Grade Ages- Fiction

These are such fun books. They are graphic novels that you help write and draw in. The hardcover editions accentuate that “real book” feeling. How many times are kids asked to help illustrate one of their hardcover books? I’m going to go out on a limb and say- never.
You are the recruit of the Doodle Agency, and Carl, the Duck, is your guide. In book one, you have the job of fighting the giant space slugs. Carl tells you what to draw, from the luggage you need to the spaceship you will travel in.
I can’t say enough good things about these books. They are ideal for reluctant readers and have done wonders for my kid with dysgraphia. Drawing has never been his strong suit- but these books made our OT time fly. I imagine that kids who love to draw will also enjoy adding their art to the story.
If you are looking for a book for a road trip, airplane ride, or just a fun stocking stuffer either (or both) of these will work. And spoiler alert: there is a third volume published in 2017!
I got review copies of both these books by the super lovely people over at Workman Publishing. ( That’s me sucking up- cause books.)
